Cooking Braised Beef in Tomato Sauce:

Step 1: prepare the beef.

First of all, we need to prepare the meat. To do this, thoroughly rinse a piece of thawed beef under running water from various kinds of contaminants. After that, put it on a cutting board and wipe it with paper kitchen towels, getting rid of excess water. Then, using a sharp knife, cut the beef into portioned pieces, about the size of up to 5 centimeters, while you need to cut across the fibers. The resulting pieces are transferred to a deep plate, add the right amount of flour to it and carefully roll the meat.

Step 2: chop the onion.

Next, peel the onion and rinse under cold running water. After that, immediately transfer it to a cutting board and grind it into small pieces of arbitrary shape up to 1 - 1.5 centimeters. If your eyes begin to watery, then rinse the knife under water.

Step 3: chop the tomatoes.

We wash the tomatoes under running water, wipe with paper kitchen towels and transfer to a deep plate. After we pour boiling water, so that the liquid covers the red vegetables, and leave them for 5 minutes. Then we drain the water and wait for the tomatoes to cool slightly. Now you can easily remove the skin and the place to which the fruit was attached to the plant. The processed vegetables are placed in a blender bowl, add tomato paste and grind to a liquid state.

Step 4: fry the beef with onions.

Now turn on the temperature of the stove to an average level, pour a little vegetable oil into the pan and put it on the stove. Put the chopped onion in the heated oil and start frying for 2 to 3 minutes until completely softened and golden brown. Then we put the finished onion in a separate plate. And in the pan add a little more fat and increase the temperature of the stove. We spread the flour slices of beef on hot oil, and fry them until golden crisp for several minutes, periodically turning over with a kitchen spatula.

Step 5: stew the beef in tomato sauce.

As soon as the beef is covered with the crust we need, we reduce the temperature of the plate to a small level, put the fried onions and pour the tomato sauce. Then we add plain pure water, so that the liquid completely covers the surface of the meat pieces, cover the pan with a lid and begin to simmer. Beef will be ready in about 60 - 80 minutes. During this time, it will be soaked in tomato sauce and will become softer and more delicate in taste. Throughout the stewing process, do not forget to mix the meat so that it does not burn. Salt and ground black pepper are added almost at the very end of cooking.

Step 6: Serve the Braised Beef in Tomato Sauce.

Braised beef in tomato sauce is served hot. As decoration, chopped greens of parsley, dill, green onions or spinach are suitable. But almost everything can serve as a side dish, this is pasta, and loose rice or buckwheat porridge, boiled or fried potatoes, as well as slices of fresh or pickled vegetables. Tasty meat dish with tomato sauce ready! Enjoy your meal!

Recipe Tips:

- - To give the dish a spicy taste, together with onions you can fry 1 - 2 cloves of chopped garlic.

- - In addition to black pepper, stewed beef is perfectly complemented by spices such as marjoram, oregano and basil, while they can be added both fresh and dried.

- - Fresh tomatoes can be replaced with ready-made tomato puree.

- - Beef can be fried not only in vegetable oil, but also in butter. For this recipe, 10 grams will be enough.
